Consultancy Services

At CHILD SA our focus is on enhancing health and wellbeing in Early Childhood Services. We can assist you to develop your inclusion goals, apply for funding and grants, strengthen relationships with your children and families and connect to your community. We will work with you and your team to develop your quality improvement plan and improve your national quality ratings. This can be in the form of real time on the floor coaching or through small group sessions.

Professional Education

Workshops can be offered on site after-hours either as a full day (6-hours) or as three 2-hour modules as listed below, we also have public workshops running throughout the year that individual staff members can join in.

Attachment and Brain Development – Module One

Quality Area 5.1 –  Respectful and equitable relationships are maintained with each child

Quality Area 5.2 – Each child is supported to build and maintain sensitive and responsive relationships

This is a 2 hour workshop that will provide a valuable overview of early childhood development and how secure relationships can support growth, development and emotional regulation.

Cost $220 for onsite delivery after hours.

Development of Emotional Regulation- Module Two

This is a 2 hour workshop that will explore the development of emotional regulation. It will incorporate aspects of early brain development and attachment theory. We will cover practical strategies for supporting children to regulate their emotions. Participants will be able to describe and discuss and the importance of viewing the child in the context of their family and community, learn to use the Circle of Security as a tool for understanding children’s behaviour and will develop the skills to support the social and emotional wellbeing of children in the early years.

Cost $220 for onsite delivery after hours.

Complex Behaviour and Trauma- Module Three

This is a 2 hour module builds on module one and two and explores how trauma can impact the developing brain. Participants will be able to demonstrate increased confidence in identifying potential triggers for children with challenging behaviours, increase awareness of the environmental impact on children and will recognise the importance of safe, predictable relationships with children. Participants will learn and practice a range of strategies to assist in the development of an individualised plan for children to support a reduction of challenging behaviours and increase their inclusion in the early learning setting

Safe sleeping

Quality Area 2 – Children’s Health and Safety

This is a 2 hour workshop that looks at the latest evidence in safe sleeping for 0-3 year olds. The content is consistent with national safe sleeping guidelines and is based on the fundamentals of attachment and infant wellbeing. Includes practical strategies, resources and tips that work to keep infants sleeping safely.

What is Normal, When to be Concerned and What to Do?

This is a 2 hour workshop that provides educators the confidence, practical strategies and resources to use with children in the early years.
